Blackback Needle Tube Flies tied with Goat Hair
Illustrated below is a small selection of Blackback Tube Flies, simply dressed salmon and sea trout flies dressed with a goat hair wing on stainless steel needle tubes 20mm in length, 1.5mm diameter.
Such tube flies may be used for salmon in the daytime or sea trout at night. Individual flies are shown below.
The tube flies may be armed with single, double or treble hooks. The Blackbacks below are fitted with free-swinging single hooks (Kamasan B983, size 6) protected by a heat shrink Knot Guard.
